Received one Autel IM608 Pro, gonna show its basic diagnostic functions, hook it up to one Chrysler LX-300 2014 for example. The nice feature is that it supports printing the test report. And we can download the car brand we actually do need, and uninstall the car brands we don’t need so that the tablet is not slow. Besides, before programming a key to a vehicle it is mandatory that we run a diagnostic scan on the vehicle just to make sure everything is working good so that we successfully program a working key!! so that’s the only reason we’re going to make sure all modules are connected with each other and were able to program.

So we need MaxiFlash JVCI J2534 ECU Reprogrammer, this is our diagnostic tool, we’re going to connect it in the port of vehicle. This is our main cable connecting to the vehicle, it actually tells “For MaxiFlash JVCI only” so it’s gonna be for a diagnostic cable.

You do not need to plug in your tablet to anything, it’s wireless Bluetooth connect.


Part 1. Scan and Diagnose 2014 Chrysler LX-300

So let’s go to a vehicle. Hook out stuff up and get started.

This vehicle was previously crashed, so it’s missing some air bags, that’s gonna pop up here, right now we’re connected our MaxiFlash to our vehicle. As you can see it has power.

We have our tablet on, we’re gonna go ahead to open it, as you can see our MaxiFlash flashed it’s telling us that it has connection okay.

We’re gonna go to diagnostic.

We’re just making sure that the immobilizer system is good and there’s nothing wrong with it.

So right here this is just for check engine on.

But we want to do a full scan. We’re going to “Auto detect” or we can put it in manually.

So let’s auto detect it’s more easier for us. Scan VIN, make sure the ignition is on.

So we’re gonna go to Chrysler (USA).

Accept the disclaimer.

So that’s the Vin which is auto detected, press ok.

You see a little green light that means that it’s connected with the vehicle.

So, this is our model here, Model year, model series, model, Vin.

Press “Yes” to go ahead.

System data loading, this is reading all modules airbags, SRS, tire sensor etc.

Go to “Diagnosis”.

Tap “Auto scan”.

We are going to do the full scan.

It says faults that means that there is something wrong with that.

It says Pass that means there is no fault with the system.

Let’s see what that is real codes, so we’re going directly into the module.

Tap “Read codes”, humidity sensor so they had just changed the windshied so that went off.


This is a nice little feature that Autel IM608 Pro will tell us the voltage of the battery at the upper right corner of the tablet, so it’s 11.92 volts. It tells you before that the battery’s gonna die or when it’s low.

Part 2. History, Save and Print

Go back, analysis will keep a history of our diagnostic scans.

2014 Chrysler LX-300, Charger… is our latest diagnostic scan.

It shows all the active codes right here, these are all still active on the vehicle.

And most of the fault codes are cleared.

We’re going to go ahead to click on the 3 dots, we can choose “Print” it out, send it straight to the printer or we can email it, so if you need to email it to your customer.

Here we print it out, it does a PDF file.

So just make sure that you always do diagnostic scans before you start working on a vehicle on doing European cars or any other vehicle with your Autel, so you can save your button behind, just in case anything is wrong with the vehicle and the owner tries to

blame you for it and you are like hey sir “I actually did a diagnostic scan and then show that this was wrong and this is my side of evidence to show you.




Part 3. Update Car Software

If you guys want to say memory when updating the software and all the vehicle information, only update the ones that you actually need. So I’m only selecting the ones that I actually do need.

Part 4. Uninstall the Car Software to save the memory

If you guys slide to the next page, we’re gonna go into “Data Manager”, then “APPs Uninstall”.

So as you can see I will uninstall the cars that I don’t have on my country. So we select the cars that we don’t need and delete them to the little trash can.

Whatever same thing for Diagnosis and Service. That shows you how to save memory, so your Autel IM608 Pro is not slow.

Have one Ford Mustang 2017, the TPMS blink with TPMS sensor malfunction after TPMS sensor replace. And we prepared these tools: a Launch X431 TSGUN TPSM Wand, a Launch X431 Diagnostic Tool (X431 V, X431 V+, X431 PAD V 5, X431 PAD II etc), 4pcs 315MHz + 433MHz TPMS sensors (Shown as below). And X431 TSGUN will communicate with X431 Tool via Bluetooth.


Note: X431 TSGUN can only program the sensors from Launch, for the activation, it can apply to the original tire pressure sensor.

Next we will use Launch X431 Pro full diagnose the car.

Operation path: Local diagnose -> American -> Ford -> Vehicle version information (i.e Ford V48.20) -> Loading -> Automatically Search -> Set ignition Switch to ON (Position II) -> Vehicle specification -> Health Reports-> Trouble code found.






Next, start relearn the sensor.

Operation path: Special Functions -> TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System ) sensor training mode.


Next is to follow the pop-up prompts to operate.

1. This procedure will enable the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System ) Sensor location training mode. Do you want to continue? Select “Yes”.

2. TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System ) Sensor Training Mode. Turn the ignition to Key ON Engine OFF (KOEO).

And the car will horn while enter to training mode.

Sensor Locations can now be trained trough a sensor activation tool. Do not choose OK until all sensors have been trained.

Next, back to X431 Pro home menu and choose “TPMS” to diagnose TPMS, activate and program sensor.


Europe -> select brand “Ford” -> Mustang 6 -> 2015 (up to 2020)



Active first.

The first tire to be activated is the front left. And the car will horn while succeed learning the sensor.

Then to learn the front right sensor.

Then to learn the rear right sensor.

The last one is the Rear left sensor.

Back to X431 Pro Ford V48.20 ->Automatically search -> Health Reports -> BCM (Body Control Module), tap “Yes” to ensure all sensors have been trained.

And car will horn while exit from training mode.

Finally, make a test drive the sensor will start working.

Future of the Tech 2
The Tech 2 remains an essential tool through at least the 2010 model year. The GM MDI will not support past models when its diagnostic capabilities are introduced. And, the Tech2 will continue to be needed to diagnose all vehicles fromprevious model years. Remote programming with the Tech 2 will continue to be supported for use on all 2007 and previous vehicles.Additional information will be supplied in future.

HOW WILL THE GM MDI BE USED?
The new GM MDI can be used only in the Pass-Thru method. This means you can use it as your programming tool, while your Tech 2/CANDY remains available for diagnostics and other duties.

The GM MDI is initially being introduced with Pass-Thru programming capabilities only. It can be used to perform Pass-Thru programming on all vehicles built since 1996 and will support all vehicles into the future.

The GM MDI will be required to perform diagnostics on selected NAO vehicles for model year 2009. Diagnostic software is scheduled to be released for the GM MDI during the fourth quarter of 2008. Regulations require programming procedures to be compliant with SAE Recommended Practice J2534.

The GM SPS is compliant with SAE Recommended Practice J2534, and the GM MDI is compliant with the portions of SAE J2534 that are applicable for GM vehicles.

What protocols does the GM MDI support?
For immediate use — At present, vehicles have two buses on the 16 pin connector (high speed and low speed GMLAN). The GM MDI communicates using all of the existing GM protocols, the same as the Tech 2:
– UART
– Class 2
– KWP2000
– GMLAN (CAN)

Beginning with the 2008 model year vehicles, Pass-Thru will be the only programming method available. (Remote will continue to be available for previous vehicles.)

I used OBDSTAR X300 DP PLUS programmer to do it.

From Fiat Ducato menu.
* read PIN ok
* make dealer key ok
* program key ok



Select Immobilizer->Fiat->Ducato->2012 up-> Blade->Marelli MB91465P+ 95640(ID46)->Type 1->Read Pin Code, then make dealer key, and program keys.






OBDSTAR prompted to use OBDII-16 and FCA 12+8 adapter to complete the operation. But I don’t use the adapter because this is not a Fiat.

Be careful to program well 2 times the original key and then the new key.

Because the first time, with obdstar, he does not reprogram the original key.
That’s when you do, programming a second time, it confirms that the programming has been done, and then you program the new key.
If you don’t do 2 times, for the original key. You’ll see in the end, there’s only one key learned (i.e. the new one) and your original key will be disabled.
It’s impossible to reschedule, a key already learned, if you didn’t re-learn it at the time of programming.

The key is ruined.

How to Erase Codes?

. Tap Erase Codes from the Function Menu.

. A warning message displays to advice of data loss if this function is completed.

a) Tap Yes to continue. A confirming screen displays when the operation is successfully done.

b) Tap No to exit.

Repair Procedure

1.With the vehicle at operating temperature, confirm the condition described in the Introduction.

Is there a brief shudder intermittently present while driving under a light load between

25 – 50 mph?

NOTE

The condition will be most noticeable prior to an upshift.

YES — Continue to step 2.
NO—This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.
NOTICE

Be sure to follow the procedure below in the order provided to prevent contamination of previously cleaned parts.

2.Drain the ATF from the transaxle by removing the drain plug.

Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year

Remove and replace the torque converter.

With the transaxle installed in the vehicle, remove the transaxle oil pan.

Transmission/Transaxle: Valve Body Assembly: Removal”

Remove and discard the two oil pan magnets and clean the inside of the oil pan by wiping it off with a clean cloth ONLY.
NOTICE

Do NOT use ANY chemical cleaners to clean the inside of the oil pan.

6.Install four NEW magnets as shown.

7.Reinstall the oil pan using a NEW oil pan gasket.

9.Check for the Authorized Modifications Label affixed to the vehicle in the locatio shown below. Confirm if the ECM (PCM) calibration has been updated.

Is the calibration ID listed the latest ECM (PCM) calibration?

YES — Go to step 12.
NO — Continue to step 10.

10.Flash reprogram the ECM (PCM).

NOTE

The GR8 Battery Diagnostic Station MUST be used in Power Supply Mode to maintain battery voltage at 13.5V while flash reprogramming the vehicle.

“GR8 Instruction Manual” located on TIS,

Diagnostics – Tools & Equipment – Battery Diagnostics.

Follow the procedures outlined in Service Bulletin No. T-SB-0012-13, “Techstream ECU Flash

Reprogramming Procedure,” and flash the ECM (PCM) with the NEW calibration file update.

11.Install the Authorized Modifications Label.

Using a permanent marker, enter the following information on the label:

ECM part number [Refer to the Parts Information section for the NEW PART NUMBER]
Calibration ID(s) [Refer to the Calibration Information section for the NEWCALIBRATION ID]
Dealer Code
Repair Date
Change Authority [This bulletin number]
B.Affix the Authorized Modifications Label to the vehicle at the location shown in Figure 2.

The Authorized Modifications Label is available through the MDC, P/N 00451-00001-LBL.

12.Perform the Techstream ECT Reset Memory Utility and test drive the vehicle to confirm the repair.

Part 4: Chrysler wiTech MicroPod 2 Common Error & Solutions

Error 1: Device with serial number XXX is not registered

The solution:
1. Right click wiTech Diagnostic Application-> Properties-> Open file location

2. Enter C:/Program Files (x86)/DCC Tools/wiTECH/client
Right click “app-config” text file and select “Edit”

3. Find out “VerificationHash”, and in the value item, change the first number to anyone digit you like
i.e change 5 to 6
Then save the text file (Very important!!!)


4. Run Witech Micropod II software.
If it still displays message” an internal registration error has occurred “, just close these windows to ignore it.

5. Tick off “Working Offline” at the left corner of screen, then you don’t need to log in. Click on “Finish”

Problem Fixed
Go on using wiTech MicroPod 2 to diagnose or program Chrysler

Error 2: When register MicroPod 2 V17.04.27, it prompts “Access refuse”.


The solution:
The prompt is indicating that the software is not installed properly. It’s better to uninstall and reinstall.

Error 3: It cannot detect the Witech MicroPod 2 diagnostic tool on the computer. Maybe there is something wrong with the driver.

The solution:
When connecting MicroPodII to computer, it will install driver automatically.
If cannot, please right click “Ethernet Gadget” to install manually.

Error 4: When connect the wiTECH2 Micropod 2 interface to diagnose Chrysler, the MicroPod2 indicator light flashed and software prompted error message “microprocessor 1 is unresponsive”.

Possible cause:
1). Software is not compatible with hardware/firmware.
Please use the default software CD in package or free download by the mega link in part 1.

2).Incorrect connection
Please follow the correct steps to connect the micropod2
-Connect wiTech Micropod2 to vehicle first
-If the red indicator light turns on, then connect wiTech to laptop
-Open wiTech software (if software detect newer wiTech version, it will run an upgrade.Wait the upgrade completed. If it does not prompt to update software to newer version, just run software)
-If you connect to laptop first (power by USB cable) and run software immediately, software and firmware will automatically synchronous upgrade and that will lead to the firmware failure. Must connect the device to vehicle!

-If the red indicator flashes, the firmware is damaged. You have to send it back to repair.
